About: Wikipedia is widely used but often misunderstood. Despite its reputation, content on Wikipedia isn’t a free-for-all. Many articles are protected, and Wikipedia has safeguards to help maintain accuracy.
In this course, participants will learn how to teach students to use Wikipedia as a starting place for verifying online information. They will debunk common misconceptions about Wikipedia and explore free, research-backed curricular resources from the Digital Inquiry Group for teaching students effective online evaluation strategies.
Eligible learners who successfully finish the course will receive a certificate of completion.
