Honor Code
Honor Code Pledge:
By enrolling in this Digital Inquiry Group (DIG) course, I agree that I will:
- Maintain only one user account for the course, unless DIG has approved the use of a separate user account.
- Not let anyone else use my course username and/or password.
- Not engage in any activity that would dishonestly improve my results, or improve or hurt the results of others.
- Not post answers to questions that are being used to assess learner performance.
Community Guidelines:
As a learner with DIG, you are part of a diverse online learning community. Whether this is your first online course or you’re a seasoned online learner, we wanted to share some tips for building a supportive learning community here:
- Be respectful. Please respect your fellow learners. Debate and exchange of ideas is part of a healthy and thriving learning community, but only when that is done in a respectful manner. Insulting, condescending, or abusive language will not be tolerated and will be reported and removed.
- Be constructive. A learning community is about learning from and engaging with one another. When commenting on others’ posts, try to offer constructive feedback and suggestions.
- Be considerate. This forum is national, with participants from many different cultures and backgrounds. Be considerate when discussing hard history or controversial topics so that all learners feel welcome to participate.
- Post appropriately. You may not post inappropriate (e.g., obscene, violent, or hateful) or copyrighted content, advertise or promote outside products or organizations, or spam the forums with repeated content.
Please help us create a healthy learning environment by respecting these standards. We do not expect to see many issues because we trust learners like you to keep our discussion forum communities strong and healthy. Throughout the course, we’ll share regular updates to highlight interesting work and conversations we see in the forum. We encourage you to look at these posts and others throughout the forum and to engage in conversation with your peers. Staff members will be participating in the forum to help in the learning community.
Violations
If you are found in violation of the Honor Code, you may be unenrolled from the course and professional development program.
Honor Code violations will be determined at the sole discretion of DIG staff. Participants will be notified of Honor Code violations and all actions to be taken as a result.
Changing the Honor Code
DIG may review and change this Honor Code from time to time. Any changes to this Honor Code will be effective immediately upon posting on this page, with an updated effective date. By accessing the course after any changes have been made, you signify your agreement on a prospective basis to the modified Honor Code and any changes contained therein. Be sure to return to this page periodically to ensure familiarity with the most current version of this Honor Code.
